Recipes Using Golden Star Brand Products

Golden Star Classic Rice Pudding
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
3 cups GOLDEN STAR BRAND JASMINE RICE, cooked
4 eggs, separated
2 cups half and half
2 cups milk
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt

Stir butter into rice. Beat yolks, half and half, milk, sugar, lemon peel, vanilla, and salt. Fold in egg whites which have been beaten until stiff. Turn into a buttered shallow 2 quart baking dish. Set in pan of hot water. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until knife inserted comes out clean.

Golden Star Jasmine Rice With Chicken Stir-Fry
Rice:
1 cup GOLDEN STAR BRAND JASMINE RICE
2 ½ cups of water

Sauce:
¼ cup water
½ tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. dry sherry
¼ tbsp. sugar

Chicken and Vegetables: 1 cup sliced chicken meat
Golden Star Brand vegetables
¼ cup vegetable oil

Rinse the rice. Place in uncovered glass casserole with water. Microwave at high (100% power) for 15 minutes. Remove from heat, cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Combine sauce ingredients and set aside. In a wok or a 12” non-stick skillet, heat oil and stir-fry chicken until lightly browned. Add vegetables and stir-fry for one minute. Add sauce, stirring constantly until thick and bubbling. Serve on or beside the cooked rice.

Yields 4 servings.
